Lakeside Modern Retreat

A minimal glass and timber volume sitting at the edge of a still lake in Finnish Lapland. Almost entirely transparent on the lake side, almost entirely closed on the forest side. The house acts as a threshold between dense pine forest and open water. A private sauna volume sits detached at the water's edge connected by a timber boardwalk. Materials: charred timber, glass, concrete.
