Northern rented print room, 4:5, 35mm, f/2.8. A simple pale wooden picture frame hung on tired limewashed plaster the colour of uncoated paper. Inside the frame the mount is blank cream — the photograph is missing, only the empty window of the mount. Tall sash window camera-left as a grey dusk rectangle, leftover fluorescent still on, paper-warm shadows, slightly fogged air, analog film grain. Quiet editorial documentary still, muted grade toward warm paper. No people, no hanging artwork, no gallery white cube, no neon, no readable letters, no logos. The error is absence.
